3 Day Desert Tour From Errachidia To Fez

On the first day of the tour, you will be picked up at Errachidia airport, then you will start the drive to Merzouga desert. Once in Merzouga, you will enjoy dinner and spend the night in a local hotel.

After a delicious breakfast, you will spend the day exploring the Merzouga region. You will start with a 4×4 ride to an ancient kohl mine, followed by a visit to the Berber nomads in their tents, where you can learn more about their lifestyle while sipping a traditional tea.

You will then travel to the village of Khamlia, where you will enjoy Gnaoua music and traditional dances. After a break for lunch at a local restaurant, you will take a walk through the nearby palm grove and visit the lake of Merzouga, also known as the lake of the flamingos.

In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to ride a camel and cross the dunes of Erg Chebbi, stopping at the top of a dune to watch the sunset over the desert. Finally, you will arrive at the luxury desert camp, where you will enjoy a magical night under the stars, accompanied by traditional Berber music and dinner around the campfire.

The last day of the tour begins with a sunrise in the desert, followed by breakfast and a camel ride back to Merzouga. From there, you will travel to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, where you can explore its traditional market, one of the largest and liveliest in the region, especially on market days (Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday).

Next, you will continue to Erfoud, a city famous for its fossils, where you can visit one of the workshops specializing in fossilized marble. After a scenic drive through the Ziz Valley, you will have time for lunch in Midelt. Then, you will travel through the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary macaques, where you can feed them and explore the area.

The final destination of the day will be Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its cool climate and charming alpine-style architecture. Finally, you will arrive in Fez, where the tour concludes with a transfer to the airport or your chosen accommodation.
