3 Day Desert Tour From Errachidia To Marrakech

On the first day of your desert and Marrakech tour, we will pick you up from Errachidia Airport and head south toward the Sahara Desert in Merzouga.  We’ll have dinner and stay overnight in Merzouga.

After breakfast, we will spend the day exploring the Merzouga region, known for its stunning landscapes, including sand dunes, natural lakes, ancient mines, fossil sites, and beautiful oases—perfect for various outdoor activities.

We begin our off-road adventure with a visit to an old kohl mine. Then, we’ll visit nomadic families living in hand-woven wool tents, where you’ll learn about their traditional lifestyle while enjoying a glass of Berber tea.

Next, we’ll head to the village of Khamlia, where you’ll experience live Gnaoua music and dance performances. The residents of this village originally came from sub-Saharan African countries such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger. There will be free time for lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we’ll take a walk through a palm grove and visit Merzouga Lake—also known as the Lake of Flamingos. Later, you’ll ride a camel across the golden dunes, stopping atop one of the highest to admire the magical sunset before continuing to a luxury desert camp. There, you’ll enjoy Berber drum music and dancing around the campfire under a sky full of stars. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Waking up early to witness the spectacular sunrise in the heart of the desert is a must. After breakfast, you will return by camel to Merzouga, where our driver will be waiting for you.

We will then leave the desert and travel west, passing through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad until we reach the impressive Todra Gorges. Here, the Todra River has carved out a majestic canyon with towering red cliffs.

We continue the journey through several kasbahs and lush palm groves until we reach Ouarzazate, where you will have free time for lunch.

Afterward, we’ll head to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This kasbah has also appeared in many films, includingGladiator,Alexander, andThe Mummy, as well as in TV series likeGame of Thrones.

Finally, we will cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and the majestic High Atlas Mountains to arrive in Marrakech, where we will drop you off at either the airport or your accommodation.
